I am a friendly and very patient teacher and believe that every student has musical potential. Whether preparing for music examinations or learning for fun, I aim to make learning music enjoyable.

I teach Oboe, Cor Anglais, Reedmaking, Recorder and Music Theory.

FTCL - Performance Diploma (Oboe) MMus with Merit - Music Performance (Oboe) BMus First Class Honours - Music Performance (Oboe/Recorder) Grade 8 Oboe Grade 8 Recorder

5 years teaching experience
How much do you charge?
I charge £25 per hour lesson / £15 per half hour lesson including travel expenses
Where do you teach?
I teach at student's homes. I am based in Charlton and am willing to travel around London where there are sufficient transport links.
When are you available?
I am available late afternoon/evening most days and weekends, please contact me for details.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and levels for Oboe and Recorder, from beginner to Grade 8 and Music Theory up to Grade 5 standard.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM / Trinity Guildhall Grade exams
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I do not have a CRB disclosure certificate. Parents of students under 18 years of age are encouraged to attend lessons.
Where and with whom did you train?
I studied with David Thomas (Oboe), Josephine Lively (Cor Anglais), Chris O’Neal (Reed-making), James Eastaway (Baroque Oboe) and Rebecca Miles / Ian Wilson (Recorder).
I have had oboe performance classes with John Anderson, Neil Black, Nora Cismondi, Chris Hooker, Gareth Hulse, Gordon Hunt, Melinda Maxwell, Tess Miller, Alice Pullen, Joe Sanders and David Theodore and recorder classes with Pamela Thorby and Philip Thorby. At the Dartington International Summer School I participated in oboe masterclasses with Nicholas Daniel.
I was finalist of the Harold Clarke Woodwind Competition and Kingston University Concerto Competition
