Which subject(s) do you teach?
Acoustic and electric guitar. Including technique, repertoire, songs, musicianship, theory, composition, songwriting, recording.
Tell me about your qualifications.
BA (Hons) Music (First Class)
What kind of experience do you have?
I have performed professionally for over ten years in many bands and ensembles, and in a wide variety of genres. Performance highlights include the Royal Albert Hall in Dorset Youth Jazz Orchestra, Larmertree Music Festival and Secret Garden Party in two folk/rock bands, and as a singer-songwriter at Carling Academy, Bush Hall London and The Troubadour.

I have taught for 3 years with Da Capo Music Foundation who run a Saturday School in London. As well as individual pupils from ages 6-16, I teach guitar groups and musicianship at Da Capo. I also teach guitar groups in primary schools. Privately I have been teaching for over 5 years.
How much do you charge?
£30 for one hour or £15 for half an hour.
Where do you teach?
I teach from my home in East Dulwich or can travel to students' homes. Please note I charge five pounds extra to travel to students homes outside of East Dulwich.
When are you available?
My schedule is flexible.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and levels.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes I have an up to date CRB disclosure.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I have a webcam and skype for online tutoring.
Tell me about some of your current students.
I teach a wide variety of ages and abilities, from 7-year-olds learning simple folk melodies to adults learning popular songs or studying jazz and blues.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I always aim to tailor lessons to the interests and enthusiasms of students, and this often informs how we approach repertoire and technique. At the same time I try to integrate a wide range of musicianship skills, such as rhythm work, investigating chord relationships, notation and playing by ear.
