About Kathryn
- What kind of experience do you have?
I am experienced in teaching keen amateur adults who tend to enthuse in lessons with me and also inspire. I am also DBS checked. In the past have I have taught students from beginner level to taking formal music exams as well as other students that simply continue the enjoyment of learning to sing on their own path.

Yes, I have an up- to- date DBS certificate.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
My current students are a pleasure to teach and work with; not only enthusiastic but also a highlight of my career as a whole. They are from all walks of life; business, finance; all with different musical backgrounds and abilities. However, their common goal is to get more enjoyment from their voices. I hope to take on more students like this very much.

Thank you for visiting my profile! I'm delighted to write that I am able and wishing to take on more students this year and into 2018. So Happy Singing Lessons New Year to you! I am a freelance professional opera singer who also enjoys teaching.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach classical singing. I am there to help you with learning new songs or your line in your choir. I'm really hoping you can enjoy your voice more regardless of your current ability. That's the key.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
In my performing career as a mezzosoprano I have toured all over the UK with National and regional opera companies in roles, covers as well as chorus as characters such as Carmen, to ladies-in-waiting and nuns! My other work includes numerous opera galas, cruises, concerts, charity events both UK and abroad. Many of my mature students also enjoy my varied past and experiences in life, as I do with theirs.
BA (Hons) Fine Art
Diploma in Performance ; Opera ( Birkbeck),
Grade 8 Singing, Grade 8 'Cello, Grade 6 Piano.
- How much do you charge?
30 mins = £25.00
60mins = £40.00
In order for me to teach in your home for singing lessons a piano would be required.
- Where do you teach?
I can travel to all areas of London and prefer to visit a student's home to teach. However if that is not possible for you I can book a music studio for your session at a slightly higher rate.
- When are you available?
As teaching privately I have flexible times depending on my schedule and yours! I'm also available to teach throughout holiday periods. 'Diary bash' is term often used with my regular students, where we find a convenient time that sometimes becomes a regular slot especially with students with busy lifestyles and commitments.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Mature students, especially beginners /intermediate , although this year starting privately with some younger folk. I teach anyone coming back to singing again; looking for inspiration in their singing life that want to to learn more, gain in confidence and take care of their voice. To work hard but have fun!
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I have students that enjoy and take on their own goals; learning songs, feeling more prepared for their choir practice or party pieces, or simply individual enjoyment and having the chance to sing in the middle or the end of a long day. I have a very keen amateur that has taken ABRSM exams 4,5 and 6 with aplomb ; a personally rewarding project for her..... and succeeded!
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Enjoy your voice more regardless of your ability; whether you sing in a choir or in the bath at home! Gain confidence in your music-learning and learn to 'warm-up' and take care of your voice......whenever and wherever you sing!
