Personal Message
Not only have I learnt two foreign languages but I have also had the opportunity to travel abroad and live the dream. As part of my University degree, I spent 6 months in France, 6 months in Spain and a summer in Colombia, South America. Then, as part of the British Council scheme, I taught English as a foreign language and lived in Chile, South America, for a year. During this time, I was able to travel around Latin America in the holidays. I was able to learn so much not only about the language but also about the culture and customs. You don't learn a language, you live it. If I can do it, you can!
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach French and Spanish ranging from KS2 up to university/adult level.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a BA Hons in French and Spanish from the University of Leicester. I also studied at Liverpool John Moores University whereby I obtained a PGCE in Modern Languages (French/Spanish) I also completed a TEFOL course whilst at University and I spent a year teaching English as a foreign language to University students in Chile, South America.
What kind of experience do you have?
In the past year, I have been working voluntary in a Primary School teaching an Afterschool French Club and conducting afternoon sessions with both KS1 and KS2 pupils. I spent a year teaching English as a Foreign Language to University students in Chile, South America.
How much do you charge?
I charge between £20-25 p/hr depending on the level required. I am happy to charge a reduced fee for groups of students and I do not charge for consultation lessons. I may have to charge an additional fee depending on the distance I am required to travel.
Where do you teach?
I am available to teach at my home and at students' homes. I live very close to Chorley, Lancs and I am very flexible in where I can travel to as I have my own transport. I may have to charge an additional fee depending on where it is I am travelling to. Nearby towns include Horwich, Blackrod, Bolton, Chorley, and Aspull.
When are you available?
I am very flexible and I would be happy to speak with potential students to discuss a day and time which would be suitable for both of us.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach French and Spanish from KS2 level up to university/adult.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes I have an up-to-date and current CRB which can be provided if requested.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I am happy and flexible to tutor online via email and instant messenger services.
Where and with whom did you train?
I trained for my teaching qualification at Liverpool John Moores University where I completed my placements at Schools in the Liverpool area.
