Personal Message
I am a 23-year-old Japanese-American violinist. I have a passion for and interest in teaching, and I have also had a lot of experience playing in professional symphony and chamber orchestras in both Oslo and London.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
Violin
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a Master's degree from Guildhall School of Music and Drama where I studied with David Takeno. My Bachelor's degree is from Barratt-Due Music Institute in Oslo, Norway, where I studied with Henning and Alf Richard Kraggerud.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have played with the Oslo Philharmonic, the Oslo Camerata, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Arensky Chamber Orchestra, the Maiastra Ensemble, and the City of London Sinfonia. As a teacher, I have taught at the Valdres Sommersymfoni summer course in Norway.
How much do you charge?
My normal charge is £30 an hour.
Where do you teach?
I live in Angel Islington and would prefer to travel to the student's home, anywhere in East or North London.
When are you available?
My weekly schedule varies greatly and is quite flexible, so I am quite free to teach any day of the week.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I would be interested in teaching anyone from age 6 to 60! I am willing to teach any level but am probably better at teaching intermediate to advanced students, rather than someone who is for example in their first couple years with the instrument.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
No.
Where and with whom did you train?
My previous mentors include David Takeno at the Guildhall School, Henning Kraggerud in Oslo, Norway, Pavel Berman at the Accademia Internazionale in Imola, Italy, and Victor Danchenko at Peabody Music Institute in the US.
