Personal Message
I am a professional musician and recent graduate of the Royal Academy of Music looking for music students and also students studying for GCSE/A Level exams.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
My principal instrument is the viola and this is the instrument which I use for the majority of my work. I am, however, a teacher of the violin, clarinet and piano. In addition to this, I am proficient in a wide range of GSCE and A Level subjects including the sciences, mathematics, English, geography, German and music amongst others.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a first class honours degree from the Royal Academy of Music in London.
I have 12 A* GCSE Grades and 5 A Grades at A Level
What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching privately for three years and have a wide range of experience working with children and young adults gained from taking part in many musical education projects and being a senior chamber music coach on the Pro Corda International Chamber Music Academy.
How much do you charge?
I charge a standard rate of £20 per half hour or £30 per hour. This however can be negotiated, depending on the distance needed to travel for example.
Where do you teach?
I teach at home but am also willing to travel to students' homes, within reason. I live in Mill Hill in North London so try to base my work around this region, but am flexible with travel to other destinations in the city.
When are you available?
I am available throughout the week and can be extremely flexible with times and dates for lessons.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach students of all ages and all abilities on the viola, violin, piano and clarinet.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare music students for ABRSM/Trinity- Guildhall practical examinations and GCSE and A-Level students for their forthcoming exams. Students who want music lessons for their own personal fulfillment and enjoyment are also very welcome and encouraged to enquire about lessons.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I have an up-to-date CRB disclosure certificate
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
For online tutoring, I have the Skype program to enable myself to communicate in real-time with students using both an audio AND visual link. I am also able to communicate and tutor very flexibly via email.
Where and with whom did you train?
I studied at the Royal Academy of Music where I had lessons with Jim Sleigh, Martin Outram and Paul Silverthorne.
