I teach English and IT.
I can help with KS3, GCSE's AS and A2 as well as Common entrance exams and IGCSE in both English Language and English Literature
Tell me about your qualifications.
English Language and Literature degree, Postgraduate Diploma in Humanities, City and Guilds Advanced IT, University Diploma in Business Studies and I am currently finishing a part time Masters in Literature.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have tutored in English Language and Literature and IT and helped with essay stucture and exam planning and revision.I have previously worked in a government education department and with elderly clients including those who have dementia so I have lots of patience. I still volunteer a couple of times a week working with the elderly. I have worked with children with ADHD helping them with concentration issues and English Language and Literature from KS3 to Degree level, I have also helped pupils taking common entrance exams.
How much do you charge?
£20 per hour but may have to add travel expenses if necessary.
Where do you teach?
At home, the student's house or could be a library or cafe.
When are you available?
Can arrange to suit.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages from KS3 to Adults and teenagers.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
SATS, GCSE, A level and Degrees.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes I am CRB checked.

Tell me about some of your current students.
I recently helped a mature student who was struggling with his grammar gain a first in his dissertation.
I am currently helping a student prepare for resits in A levels by helping with essay structure and revision tips
I have also worked with children with ADHD and with children at secondary school and at Primary school
I am also helping A level students with English language, analysing advertisements, visual English and texts as diverse and terms and conditions and websites
Do you have a personal message for students?
My approach is student focused
I like to get my students to engage and think about any issues that arise from our sessions
I give lots of handouts that I devise so that students can look at these after our sessions and to help them with revision
