Personal Message
I am a violinist who is an active performer, musician and teacher. I have studied with a wide range of internationally known professors (Russia, Romania, France, Holland, UK,) from whom I have also gained a lot of experience in the field of teaching.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I give violin lessons, but can also help with aural and solfedge skills.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I am currently doing my Masters Degree at the Royal College of Music where I also hold a scholarship. I received a First Class Honours Bachelor of Music Degree at the Royal College of Music in 2010. I took my A Levels at a specialist music school - Chetham's School of Music and my secondary school years go back in Estonia, where I studied, also in a specialist music school - Tallinn music High School.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching for 7 years now and I have already been on the faculty for Repton International Music Festival and I have also worked as an assistant for my previous teacher Jan Repko.
I do a lot of performing in solo and chamber music and I believe the experience that I gain from concerts helps me add something extra to my teaching.
During the 19 years of my violin playing I have also taken part and won prizes in many international competitions and festivals (Derek Butler London Prize, L.Spohr, ESTA, K.Schontal, Vibrarte, Young Musician International Competition, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Courchevel Music Festival Alp, New Virtuosi Violin Mastercourse etc.), which has shown me different ways of playing and teaching. I had my Wigmore Hall debut in 2010 and I have also played in halls such as Cadogan Hall, Bridgewater Hall, National Gallery, V&A, St James's Piccadilly, St Martin in the Fields, etc.
Recently I recorded for the EMI Classics recording company.
How much do you charge?
I charge 40 pounds per hour. The price can be lowered if the student is willing to come to me for lessons.
Where do you teach?
I can teach in my studio or in students' homes. I am willing to travel in around West London or South West London (Acton, Chiswick, Hammersmith, Kensington, Ealing), but if you live somewhere else, but are very keen, it's still worth asking!
When are you available?
My timings are very flexible.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and all levels.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can prepare students for all qualifications.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
No.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
Unfortunately with violin lessons online tutoring is not possible.
Where and with whom did you train?
I am currently doing my Masters Degree at the Royal College of Music, studying with Prof. Radu Blidar. I did my Bachelor of Music Degree at the same institution with Prof. Jan Repko with whom I also studied at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester. Before A Levels I attanded Tallinn Music High School in Estonia with Prof. Ivi Tivik.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I believe that learning should be fun, but one mustn't forget that success also requires a bit of hard work.
