Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach violin and viola.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I am currently studying towards a PhD in Music at King's College London. I obtained a Masters of Music in Advanced Performance from the Royal College of Music in July 2008, a Postgraduate Diploma in Classical Music Performance with distinction from the Maastricht Conservatorium - Hogeschool Zuyd in May 2006, a Diploma in violin performance with unanimous distinction and 1st prize from the Athens National Conservatory, a Diploma of Associateship in Theory of Music from the London College of Music, a Diploma of Harmony with unanimous distinction from the Conservatory of Classical and Contemporary Music, Athens, and an International Baccalaureate Diploma from the Doukas School, Athens.
What kind of experience do you have?
I am currently a violin and viola tutor at Stringmoves, the Saturday music school at St John's College School, Cambridge. I have been teaching the violin privately for 8 years. I have also taught at the First Musical Academy, Stratford, and the Dromi Zois Centre for underprivileged children in Athens, Greece.
How much do you charge?
Violin £40/hour
Viola £40/hour
Where do you teach?
I am happy to travel to students' homes, but I can also teach at home in West Kensington.
When are you available?
At present, I only have a couple of teaching slots available, so do get in touch so that we can arrange a mutually convenient time.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am happy to teach students of all ages and levels.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM Grades exams and Diploma, as well as for entrance to the UK's Conservatories.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes, I have an Enhanced CRB Disclosure Certificate which was issued on 8 August 2011.
Where and with whom did you train?
I trained at the Royal College of Music with Yuri Zhislin, at the Hogeschool Zuyd - Conservatorium Maastricht with Boris Belkin, and at the Athens National Conservatory with Ludmila Limorova.
Tell me about some of your current students.
My current students range from absolute beginners to ABRSM Diploma standards, from 5-year-olds to adult professionals who enjoy to learn the violin despite their busy life. No matter what your level or goal, I am sure that together we will manage to make this a creative and enjoyable experience.

I have had quite a few students ask me why we play scales. One keeps saying they are boring and have no interesting melody. That is probably true. However, their benefits are surely extraordinary. Legendary violinist Jasha Heifetz mentioned on several occasions the importance of daily scale...
