Book Recommendations
Repertoire obviously depends on the level and ability of the student. However, for child beginners I usually recommend firstly John Thompson's Teaching Little Fingers to Play, following up with Marjorie Helyer's Over the Hills or Down a Country Lane. After that, I recommend Thomas Dunhill's...
really appreciated Mary’s approach – helping each to select
challenging but appropriate repertoire, achieving great exam results
and always taking due care with technique. Can honestly say the girls enjoyed every lesson. All three continue to play, the eldest now with her own piano students, the younger two reading Music at university and very pleased to have acquired excellent keyboard skills to support their string first studies. - Megan Tress
