In Maths, Be Wise, Factorise!

When solving any polynomial equation it would be a mistake to divide both sides by anything in terms of the variable you are trying to find as you will lose a solution. Losing a repeated root is also a mistake as all roots repeated or otherwise must be used. Let us consider the...

The French Subjunctive Revealed For Better Marks!

As a French Tutor in North West London I have always been fascinated by the French grammar and its logic that is on the whole so similar to Maths. I find the subjunctive opens up so many possibilities. Usage There are many cases but the general and easiest case will be dealt with here.(A...

Empathetic Teaching of French and Spanish.

As a French and Spanish Tutor in North West London I find it a great pity that today's teaching seems geared towards mainly teaching colloquialisms and expressions with little or no grammatical knowledge. As you can imagine it would be very difficult to put a sentence together with no verbs...

Student Testimonials
I write to confirm that Matthew tutored my daughter in GCSE French. She achieved a grade A*. He was thorough in his preparation. His subject knowledge was good and he was always very reliable in terms of attendance and punctuality. - Maire Lynch (Loreto School Headmistress).
This is to affirm that we are delighted to have had Matthew as a private Maths tutor for Jessica, our daughter. She achieved a grade C in her GCSE. Matthew has shown a respected and an acquired skill in conveying across this subject. - Henry Rotstein
Matthew Brown tutored Michael through Year 11 until the GCSE exams. Matthew is an affable and extremely conscientious tutor equipped with good language skills and tutoring experience, who I can heartily recommend. He puts a great deal of thought into his teaching sessions. As a result, we were both delighted and grateful when Michael achieved a B in French and a B in Mathematics among his results. - Keith Jermyn
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Liam had a predicted grade B for his GCSE Maths, so we enlisted Matthew's help as a Maths Tutor at Easter and Matthew tutored Liam up to his Maths exams. Liam has achieved a grade A through the help of Matthew's tuiton, encouragement and homework that he gave Liam.

Liam is delighted that he achieved this grade as he did not anticpate to achieve above his predicted grade but the extra tuition with Matthew did help Liam achieve his grade A. - Claire Scott
To whom it may concern
We are very pleased with Matthew Brown's Private French Tutoring with our daughter Celina.
She got a final A* Alevel and an A at AS level and has secured a place at London University's ULIP in Paris to study French at degree level. - Bill and Georgy Liesegang.
Matthew was a French Tutor to my son James from Christmas 2010 until May 2011. He only achieved a D in his French mock exam but went on to achieve an A grade in his final French International GCSE examination with only 5 months of his tuition. We are therefore very happy to recommend Matthew to any other parents wanting tuition as he pays great attention to detail in both his explanations and spotting mistakes in a way and to a degree not seen by many tutors. - Alan Briefel
I was searching for a Spanish tutor for my daughter who was predicted an E grade at GCSE and found Matthew’s details on a website. From the very beginning Matthew was professional and helpful and willing to go the extra mile (which was very helpful as my daughter was not keen on the subject at all but needed an improved grade).

With Matthew’s help, my daughter gained a B grade which is more than we had hoped for!

Matthew is an excellent tutor and I would highly recommend him! - Dawn Highwood
We were very happy with the GCSE Spanish and Maths Tutoring we had for our daughter, Alisha. She got A's in both subjects, and the help she received from Matthew was invaluable. I have no hesitation in recommending Matthew for tutoring. - Hitesh Shah
