Flute


How much do you charge?
£8.50 per half an hour.

If I need to travel to you I will charge for travelling time/distance depending on how far you live from my home.


Where do you teach?
I teach at home in Leeds, I live near the University in Headingley. There is parking outside and I'm happy for parents to stay and wait. I can also teach in the Leeds area in your home. Nearby is Burley Park station and its walkable from there.


When are you available?
I am available mainly at weekends and in the evening, and am also available during school holidays.


Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages, from beginners upwards, for fun or serious study.


Do you have a CRB disclosure certificate?
Yes, I have a full CRB certificate.

Diploma in flute GSMD(P).
Introduction to teaching AB course
Music degree (ongoing) University of Leeds
Piano grade 7


Where and with whom did you train?
I have trained with Jennifer George at the University of Leeds, Joanne Kidman at Peter Symonds college. I have had masterclasses with Claire Southworth, Michael Cox and Ian Clarke.


What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching the flute for 5 years, one-to-one and in groups.
I have a lot of performance experience, both professional and ametuer.
I have my own funk band and play regular gigs on flute/sax/vocals.
I am a member of several University chamber groups and orchestras.
I play in the pit band for 3 professional standard shows a year for the University. (Flute, sax, picc)
I have also worked as a playworker, and a children's courier in France leading groups of children in sports and music.


Tell me about some of your current students.
Current and past students have had lessons with me both for fun and also some have taken ABRSM exams. Most are around primary and secondary school age but I have taught adults in the past.

Best thing to do is give me an email to arrange a trial lesson at half price at a mutually convenient time. Then you can decide if I am the right teacher for you.
