About Monica
- What kind of experience do you have?
2006-2010 I taught pupils privately singing and piano with all of my pupils achieving ABRSM grade success.
2006-2010 I taught at UK Theatre School in Glasgow teaching one to one coachings for musical theatre auditions, group classes aged between 5-19 pop and musical theatre, adult classes, full scale summer productions, taking Easter schools and working on showcases.
2005-present I often visit schools and do workshops with children for school shows and choirs.

I am a young performer who moved to London from Scotland in 2010. I have been teaching children and adults both one on one and in classes since 2005. I am thrilled to be an Ambassador for The Princes' Foundation for Children and The Arts.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I specialise in teaching classical singing but also just young singers who love to sing their favourite pieces of music. I also teach piano, specialising in beginners and working through the ABRSM Grades.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have been working with children and teaching music for 8 years.. My musical qualifications include over 10 years studying in the UKs leading music schools-RSAMD and RCM. As a performer I have appeared on stage, screen and radio.

- Where do you teach?
I live in South East London and I am still waiting for my piano to arrive here so for now I will be able to travel within London up to zone 4 or roughly 1hr distance. Greenwich, Lewisham, Blackheath, London Bridge and Dartford are all very close by.
- When are you available?
I am available during the daytime, evenings and until 3pm on weekends. Due to my own performing occasionally I may be away doing a concert but I am very committed to my students and believe consistency is vital and so there will always be a lot of notice in order for us to find a way around it to make sure it does not affect the learning.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Starting age for piano lessons is roughly around 7 but it is very much down to the child, for singing I would teach from about age 10 but again it varies from child to child. I believe there is no upper age limit for wanting to start learning a new skill! In the past I have specialised in absolute beginners and taking them up through the Grade system. I also coach music students preparing for auditions, recitals and school exams. Singing being my primary skill I can teach up to very advanced stages, with piano I am happy to teach up to about Grade 6/7. I also teach music theory.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I have prepared students for ABRSM exams as well as Music college auditions and school exams.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Learning a new instrument or skill can be a daunting experience and I really believe it should be as fun as possible. It is a very personal and individual process and I try and make sure that each student is cared for in a way that best brings out the skills they have, and nourish their talent. Encouragement and enthusiasm are vital in the early stages of learning! I am so passionate about teaching and nurturing talent.
