Interview

Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Mathematics from KS2 (7-11) up to and including A Level/Further A Level.

Tell me about your qualifications.
My first degree is a BSc Honours in Pure Mathematics from Queen Mary University of London. My second degree is a PGCE in Mathematics.

What kind of experience do you have?
I am a fully qualified secondary school teacher of mathematics. I am also head of KS3 in my department and have access to many resources including past exam papers. I teach at a very successful comprehensive in Redbridge. Our school obtained outstanding in all areas in our last Ofsted inspection and we were recently denoted as being in the top one percentile in the whole country for value added in mathematics. Prior to this I was at Ilford County Grammar School. I have been a private tutor for over 8 years.

How much do you charge?
See above for rates. Note: the above rates do not include travel expenses. Group rates are available upon request.

Where do you teach?
I teach at both students' homes as well as my own home.

When are you available?
I am available to teach every day after 5pm on weekdays and after 9am on weekends.

Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages, including adults. I teach KS2/3/4(GCSE) and A Level/ Further Maths.

Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes. Being a school teacher, this is a prerequisite.

Tell me about some of your current students.
I have an excellent record with a 100 percent pass rate to date. I have had considerably weak students come to me with very little time before their exams and have helped them achieve very good results although I do not recommend leaving things to the last minute if you want to achieve the best possible results. I am happy to provide references from past students and parents on request.

Do you have a personal message for students?
Maths is a subject that anyone can be good at regardless of ability, it just requires a bit of patience and self belief. These ingredients coupled with a good teacher who is able to put his point across in a clear yet simple manner will produce a successful mathematician.
