What kind of experience do you have?
As a performer I have played with many wind bands and orchestras. I have performed at the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican, Ham House and Hampton Court Palace. I have toured to Brittany, Venice and Germany. I have also performed in amateur musical productions and have worked as a session musician.
As a teacher I have good experiecne of teaching a variety of ages and abilities. My students have varied from pre-school children to those who are retired. I have successfully presented pupils for exams and I have taught pupils purely for the pleasure of learning an instrument! I have taught at Grubser's Academy and through Kingston Music and Arts Service and Hammersmith and Fulham Music Service.
How much do you charge?
£20 per hr - I like to keep my rate as low as possible to make music and learning as accessible as possible. I am happy to teach in pairs/groups also.
If you would prefer 30 mins, the rate is £10.
Where do you teach?
I teach at home because all my resources and materials are to hand. This always ensures a more beneficial lesson as I can't carry all of my resources around at all times. Also, it keeps the rate lower as there is no need for travel reimbursement.
When are you available?
Please contact me to discuss this, I am flexible!
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and abilities, everybody is always welcome!
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I will only prepare students for qualifications if this is what they want!

Yes and a certificate in Child Protection Awareness.

Do you have a personal message for students?
I adapt to the individual, making sure they are having fun, enjoying what they are learning and ensuring that they are getting the most from their tuition! This is regardless of their age and ability! I have an entirely relaxed and student-centred approach, using pedagogy that ensures all students achieve their very best.
The Serious Clarinettist!
I would seriously recommend any clarinettist intending to enter the performing world, to read The Cambridge Companion to the Clarinet (Ed. Colin Lawson). I definitely found it very useful as it discusses all aspects of the instrument, and the advantages and disadvantages of being a...
