- I am a warm, friendly and supportive tutor of English to speakers of other languages. I have experience of teaching pupils from a variety of countries and backgrounds with diverse learning requirements. I tailor lessons to meet the needs of my students.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach English to speakers of other languages.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a BA Joint Honours degree and Trinity Cert TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages) qualification.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have taught at further education colleges both in the UK and in Rwanda. I have also taught refugees and asylum seekers of all ages for non-governmental organisations and in secondary schools in London.
I have over three years experience of supporting students with English as an additional language and special educational needs in inner city secondary schools. - How much do you charge?
- I charge £20 per hour for one-to-one tuition or £15 per hour, per person, for a small group of two or three students.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach in South London but am willing to travel to other parts of London if required.
- When are you available?
- I am available Monday - Friday 9.30am - 5.00pm until 21st January 2011. After this time I will be available during afternoons only.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I am currently teaching adults but I am happy to teach students of any age.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I am preparing some of my students for the Preliminary English Test (PET) but am able to prepare students for a wider range of exams.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I do not hold an up-to-date CRB check.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I I have a BA Joint Honours degree in drama and philosophy from the University of Kent and a Trinity Cert. TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages) qualification from Saint George International in London.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- I teach pre - intermediate/intermediate level English to adults aged between 19 and 35 from France, Italy, Spain, Nicaragua, Colombia, Poland, Guinea, Myanmar and Morocco.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- I am a friendly, supportive tutor and tailor lessons to meet the needs of my students.
