About Brian
- What kind of experience do you have?
I tutor, ONLINE ONLY, using a virtual classroom with an online whiteboard platform selected to give greatest ease-of-use. Think of it as being taught in a fully equipped classroom with the teacher next door.

Yes.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I obtained my PTTLS teaching qualification from City College, Brighton. My teaching mentor was hugely influential on my teaching. I observed and assisted him for 6 months before I started tutoring on my own account.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a member of the NCETM (National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics).
- Tell me about some of your current students.
My students range from struggling 10 year-olds to high-flying A level students. I'm also helping several prospective teachers with their QTS numeracy test.
Some of my students are engineering and business studies under-graduates.

During lessons we communicate using online voice and video links. Parents can observe or join in as they wish. When I exchange emails or messages directly with my pupil I always copy parents in.

ALL my tutoring is done online, using an advanced teaching platform. You have your own virtual classroom with whiteboard, document swapping and audio and video links.
What will you need? A peaceful place to work, a PC or Mac with a simple headset (to reduce feedback noise), a Skype address and a reliable net connection.
Our first tutorial is free of charge in case you find you don't like working online - you would be the first! We would discuss what you want to achieve and work out a draft timetable.
