Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Singing/Vocals for beginners to advanced, I teach the modern contemporary pop style, not Hip-Hop or Rap, I also Teach Musical Theater Singing and an introduction to Classical Singing. Apart from Singing I also teach Bass, Electric and Acoustic Guitar, these instrument lessons are strictly for beginners so no bad techniques have previously been learned as these are hard to correct.
Tell me about your qualifications.
Trained at Berkeley College achieving degrees with honors in Vocals, Acoustic Electric & Bass Guitars, Grade 8 Piano
What kind of experience do you have?
I have been a performer in this industry for over 20 years, both as a singer and as a musician, and I still perform live gigs.
How much do you charge?
I charge £20.00 per hour.
If the student does not visit my home studio for their lessons but I have to drive to them, then I add on fuel costs which vary depending on travel distance, but on average this is usually £10.00 my online courses are charged differently and the student should contact me for a quote.
Where do you teach?
I teach from my home studio in Tongham, near Farnham in Surrey. The nearest train stations are Ash, Ash Vale, Aldershot, Farnham, Guildford and Worplesdon. I also travel to students' homes to conduct lessons. I travel out as far as Basingstoke, Kingston Upon Thames, Richmond, Guildford, Camberley, Woking, Surbiton, Alton, Tolworth, Bracknell, Farnham and small villages around my area.
When are you available?
I teach Monday to Friday between 10am and 9pm.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach children from twelve years of age with their parents consent, but most of my students are adults.
Singing Lessons I teach up to Level 7 which is the equivalent of Piano Grade 8.
Guitar Lessons Acoustic, Bass & Electric are for beginners, and prepares them for the Level 1 exam.
Do you have a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I hold a valid CRB certificate.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I offer 'online' courses in all of my subjects these are via either 'Skype' or 'Hotmail' at agreed times. I also offer a Video training course in all of my subjects and these can be supplied to the student via' Voodoo' the student can then video record how they are getting on and email there video back to me, this is ideal when an agreed Live video lesson can not be set up time wise.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a member of the Musicians Union.
Tell me about some of your current students.
Some of my students have gone on to do well in talent competitions including:- Live & Unsigned, Open Mic, X-Factor, Pop-Idol and Britain's Got Talent, other students have gone on to successful careers as original recording artists, or performing in cover song acts around the world.
