I offer friendly, supportive and stimulating classes to improve my students' knowledge and examination grades.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
English GCSE, Business Studies GCSE & A Level, English as a Foreign Language, Adult Literacy and Business English. I am happy to assist students with Job Applications and writing CVs.
Tell me about your qualifications.
BA(Dunelm) 1975, PGCE 1988. Cambridge CTEFLA 1996.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught adult education classes. GCSE and A Level in secondary schools, a Sixth-Form College, FE Colleges and a wide range of courses as a private tutor over the last 32 years. I have previously been an A Level marker for the Oxford Examinations Board. I have also worked in the voluntary, private and public sectors, hence my willingness to offer business English, and to assist with job applications, CV preparation and interview skills.
How much do you charge?
Individual tuition starts at £25 ph. I also offer tutored English Language conversation and discussion to small groups (Max. of 4) for £40 ph in total, divided equally amongst the students attending.
Where do you teach?
I prefer to teach students in their own homes but can offer classes at the Spice Route Cafe on Gloucester Road in Bishopston and at Coffee Beach, next door to the Radisson Blue Hotel on Bristol City Centre.
When are you available?
At any reasonable time by prior arrangement.

All ages.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
GCSE, AS, A2, EFL/ESOL, Degree and Professional.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I have an up-to-date, current enhanced CRB disclosure certificate.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
The General Teaching Council of England and the NASUWT.

I believe that education is a life long process. I am particularly interested in helping students with social, medical or educational challenges to achieve their full potential.
