Grade 8 Classical Saxophone with Distinction (ABRSM) - What kind of experience do you have?
- With over five years of private teaching experience I have helped students of all ages and abilities reach their potential and achieve their personal goals. Throughout this time I have entered a number of pupils into ABRSM and Trinity/Guildhall examinations with a 100% pass rate as well as preparing students for university entrance, music theory exams and GCSE/A-Level examinations.
Before moving to London I had the opportunity to work with East Leeds Music Service as their Woodwind specialist. In this capacity I tutored saxophone, flute and clarinet; as well as directing the ELMS Wind Orchestra. Throughout my undergraduate study I have undertaken modules in both pedagogy and social physcoholgy in which I was awarded first class honours for.
My performance credits include Glastonbury Festival, Harrogate International Festival and Leeds International Jazz Conference to name a few. In my time as a musician I have been awarded the George Murphy Prize for Saxophone, 'Arches' Scholarship to study postgraduate and reached the final of the European Keep an Eye Competition as the only saxophonist and British musician in the final. I can currently be seen performing with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Great Britain as well as touring nationwide with the Phil Meadows Group and 3point1.
I've had the opportunity to perform at the world famous Glastonbury Festival, Harrogate International Festival and Leeds International Jazz Conference to name a few. - I have over 5 years of teaching experience in Saxophone, Flute, Theory, Composition and Ensemble Coaching. - Throughout my time as a musician i've won the George Murphy Prize for Saxophone, Great Northern Big Band Competition and reached the final of the European Keep an Eye Competition. - I have a first class honours degree in Jazz Studies and received the Arches Scholarship to study a Masters in Music at Trinity College of Music. - I am fortunate to be endorsed by international reed and accessory manufacturer RICO (www.ricouk.com) - How much do you charge?
- I charge £25 for an hours lesson. All fees include travel expenses as I would rather travel to you for your lessons.
- Where do you teach?
- I prefer to travel to yours for lessons and will generally drive anywhere within 20 minute of Greenwich.
- When are you available?
- My teaching hours are quite flexible so it is best to ask and we can work something out together!
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I am happy to teach all ages and abilities and tailor my lessons to suit the pupils needs.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I am happy to prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity/Guildhall examinations.
I also help students prepare for both auditions and competitions as well as offering extra tuition for academic qualifications. - Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I have an up to date CRB.
