- I am a freelance French Horn player, and Brass and Piano teacher. Music is my passion!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach brass, piano, and music theory.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I completed my Bachelor of Music (French Horn) at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and have just achieved a Distinction for Master of Arts (French Horn) at the Royal Academy of Music. I also have a Distinction for LRSM (French Horn), and ABRSM Grade 8 Piano.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I currently teach students of mixed levels privately, and during my time at the Royal Academy of Music I taught King's College London 1st Year French Horn Students through the Royal Academy of Music. I have taught chamber music for Royal Northern College of Music Junior Department, conducted workshops throughout primary schools, secondary schools, and schools for the profoundly disabled throughout the UK. I have also assisted the Hallé in the running of their family workshops.
- How much do you charge?
- I charge £25 per hour, and £15 per half hour sessions.
- Where do you teach?
- I can teach from my home in Cricklewood, and I am also willing to travel to areas in Zones 1-3.
- When are you available?
- I am a freelance musician so my times are flexible, but I aim to make lessons as regular as possible for students.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- French Horn: Beginner- Advanced
Cornet/ Trumpet: Beginner- Grade 8
Tenor Horn: Beginner- Grade 8
Euphonium: Beginner- Grade 5
Tuba: Beginner- Grade 5
Piano: Beginner- Grade 5
Music Theory: Grade 1- 8
I teach any age from 6 years old, but for brass playing I think it is best to begin after the second set of teeth have come in. - Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I do not have a current CRB certificate, but I am happy to obtain one at a students request.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I completed my undergraduate degree at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying with Lizzie Davis, Julian Plummer, and Beccy Goldberg. I completed my Postgraduate degree at the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Richard Watkins, Michael Thompson, and Martin Owen. I have performed in Masterclasses with Froydis Ree Wekre, Frank Lloyd, Radovan Vlatkovic, Tim Jones, and Roger Montgomery.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- I am a passionate musician, and have been studying music for most of my life. I aim to inspire students to enjoy and appreciate music, whether they want to pursue music as a career, or just as a hobby.
