About Yu-Fen
- What kind of experience do you have?
As a professional pianist, I have extensive experience in performing solo recitals and chamber music. My public appearances have included the solo performance at the Birmingham Symphony Hall in December 2012 and Birmingham Town Hall in June 2013, where I played Bitten's Piano Concerto for the composer's 100th anniversary with the Birmingham Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra conducted by Lionel Friend. I was also invited to play Beethoven Choral Fantasy op.80 with Shrewsbury Cantata Choir in St Chad's Church, Shrewsbury in Nov 2013. My piano trio has recently won the Leamington Music Prize, and had been invited to play a Winner's concert in Leamington Spa. Last year I was studying at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Hungary, having been awarded a full scholarship from the Weingarten Trust.
At the same time, I am a delicate and experienced tutor who has great passion and patience in teaching. I can teach piano/Music Theory/Ear-training/sight reading and I have around three years experience teaching beginners to advanced students and from young children to adults.
