About Lindsay
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been a private music tutor for 6 years, teaching piano, recorder and music theory to students of all ages and abilities, and have taught at the University of Bristol on the BA Music unit 'The Film Musical'. I will be teaching more classes on the BA Music course this year.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Not at the moment, but I plan on getting one done this year through the University.

Hello and thank you for looking at my profile. I am a friendly and enthusiastic private tutor based in Clifton with 6 years' experience of teaching piano, recorder and music theory in an encouraging and motivating environment.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I am primarily a private music teacher offering piano, recorder and music theory lessons, but I also tutor university music students, Scottish Higher qualifications in history and English, and essay writing. I can offer proofreading services on request.

- How much do you charge?
I charge £15 for half an hour and £25 per hour for practical music lessons (piano and recorder), and £30 an hour for music theory lessons. I offer a complimentary consultation lesson.
For university level music tuition I charge £30 per hour, and for Higher History and English I charge £25. My rates for essay writing tuition and proofreading services are £25 per hour.
- Where do you teach?
I prefer to teach at my home, near Clifton Down railway station, from 9am-6pm Monday-Friday, but also travel to students' homes in Clifton, Redland, Westbury on Trym, Hotwells, Henleaze and Stoke Bishop in the evenings. I charge an extra £5 to cover travel costs, where necessary. Please contact me if you live elsewhere in Bristol to see if I would be willing to travel the distance.
- When are you available?
9am-6pm Monday-Friday in my home, and in the evenings and weekends at students' homes.
