B.A. Politics and Social Science - What kind of experience do you have?
- I have taught dhol and tabla for over 16 years
I have toured and performed with bands/artists including Asian Dub Foundation and Nitin Sawhney
I have lectured at the Royal Institute of Education on Indian classical music (keynote speech)
I teach in schools throughout London and also teach for ARK and the NHS. - How much do you charge?
- 20 per hour at home/25 if travelling locally to pupils homes.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach at home in Manor Park London E12 and also local areas such as Ilford, Gants Hill, Seven Kings, Chigwell, Essex.
Other areas include Forest Gate E7, Stratford E15.
Other areas possible if travel expenses can be negotiated. - When are you available?
- Mon to Fri evenings
Sat/Sun all day
All lessons are hourly and dhol and tabla drums are provided for the lesson. - Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach pupls aged between 4 and 65
I teach dhol and tabla for GCSE and A level standard - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I prepare students for GCSE /A level music performance pieces
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes just had a new one issued October 2011

- I've been classically trained in the tabla by Yogesh Samsi, Nafees Irfan and Nand Kumar

- My dhol students will be performing at the opening ceremony of the Olympic games in London 2012

- I have years of teaching experience behind me and am very confident that I can help any pupil become a brilliant dhol or tabla player.
Also if pupils show me youtube clips of professional performance pieces, I can teach those pieces.
