Friendly, flexible and motivated trainee teacher with extensive experience working with children and excellent references available for Kent Test and KS1-2 French tutoring.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach French (KS1 and KS2) and tutor children preparing for their Kent Test (or 11+ exam).
Tell me about your qualifications.
I am currently undertaking a Modern Foreign Languages Primary PGCE Teaching course at Canterbury Christ Church University with my specialism subject being French. Prior to this, I attended The University of Kent, where I obtained an Undergraduate Law Degree (LLB) and a Postgraduate International Law and International Relations Masters Degree (LLM).
What kind of experience do you have?
I have been working closely with children of a Primary school age for many years, and my current teaching training course provides knowledge of current teaching methods and access to up to date learning materials. With experience stretching in to a vast number of areas including, voluntary classroom assistant work; the running of after school clubs; and a gap year living abroad in a French speaking country, I am confident that I will be able to enrich your child's academic journey and provide them with invaluable knowledge and skills within a friendly learning environment.
How much do you charge?
Tutoring is charged at an hourly rate of £20.00 with a reduced price one hour consultation lesson at £10. I do not charge any extra fees for travel. Where families are looking for a tutor for more than one child in their household, I will provide seperate tutoring lessons for each child, and implement a discounted rate for the family.
Where do you teach?
I can travel or host and primarily operate within Canterbury, Kent. I am able to travel to nearby villages on the outskirts of the city, for example Blean, where required.
When are you available?
I am relatively flexible and am available to tutor during the evening Monday - Friday and can negotiate weekend tutoring if required.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
My target age range for tutoring is Primary School children of all abilities aged between 4 - 11. Proofreading targets a wider audience; namely GCSE, A-Level or Degree students of all ages.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
The 11+ Exam tutoring is designed to prepare Year 4 and 5 students for their Kent Test, which they undertake at the beginning of Year 6. French tutoring is designed to enable your child to grasp a more comprehensive understanding of the language and does not target any specific examinations.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes. I am fully CRB checked, and can provide evidence of this if required.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
Online tutoring refers solely to proofreading. For ease, I think correspondence via e-mail and file attachments is the best method of getting an essay back to a student as swiftly as possible.
