- I have recently moved to Portsmouth from Somerset and have vacancies for violin pupils. I have a wealth of experience as a teacher and freelance violnist. After graduating from the RNCM I joined the Regimental Band of Her Majesty's Scots Guards during which time I led the orchestra. Since leaving the army I continued freelance playing. but have devoted most of my time to teaching violin in schools and become a qualified Suzuki violin teacher and so am happy to teach from age three to seventy. I respect my pupils and tailor my tuition to their individual needs.

- I teach the Violin and Viola.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I am a Graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music and a qualified Suzuki violin teacher, level 3.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- Playing: I was orchestral leader for the Scots Guards and since leaving the army have continued freelance playing and leading local orchestras.
Teaching: I have 20 years experience teaching both in schools and privately. - How much do you charge?
- I charge £30 per hour and pro rata for shorter lessons. Children under the age of 6 would normally have a lesson of 20 minutes, with longer lessons as the concentration span developes. Ideally I teach adults for an hour weekly but am happy to give 45 or 30 minute lessons or 1 hour fortnightly.
- Where do you teach?
- Normally I teach at home but would consider visiting at a charge of 50p per mile.
- When are you available?
- I'm available Mondays, 3pm- 7pm. Tuesdays and Fridays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- 3- 70. Beginner to Grade 8.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I currently teach in school and so have an up to date CRB cirtificate.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- British Suzuki Institute, Incorporated Society of Musicians, European String Teachers Association
