Teaching: I have been teaching singing privately for four years, both adults and children. I have had a detailed grounding in Classical singing technique and was awarded a distinction in my Teaching Exam as part of my degree. I have prepared pupils for ABRSM examinations and have a 100% pass rate. I teach singing at Burlington Danes Academy in West London where I also lead the senior choir. I also lead the church choir at St Francis de Sales in Stockwell and teach singing to members of the choir.
Performer: Professional experience includes roles with English National Opera (Two Boys World Premiere- June 2012 and The Perfect American June 2013) Madrid's Teatro Real (The Perfect American World Premiere Jan 2013) Holland Park Opera (Turn of the Screw 2014), Brisbane Festival and Spoleto Festival. I sing in the vocal quartet ffourtissimo who have recently appeared on Harry Hill's T.V Burp and the Matt Lucas Awards Show. I also run Literary Music, a group providing historical music and entertainment. I have also had experience of choral singing as a member of the Halle Youth choir.

- Do you have a personal message for students?
Whether you sing in a choir or only ever sing in the shower, whether you want to do exams and competitions or you want to sing for fun I would love to help you develop your confidence, vocal technique and love of singing.
I believe every student should be taught good, healthy vocal technique and I encourage students to understand the way their body works when singing, almost as if they were an athlete as well as a musician (after all your body is your instrument). The emphasis on technique sounds dull but it really isn't! It's a means to an end. Understanding how your voice work takes the "I don't know what's going to come out of my mouth", "this might sound horrible" out of the equation. It gives you the confidence to know that you can sing the way you want to and it gives you the ability to achieve the sounds you want to achieve; how to sing softly at one point, loud and rich at another, how to tune notes perfectly and how to sound beautiful in every part of your vocal range. I find that the more my students understand about their voice the more they grow in confidence and enjoyment of singing.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
I wholeheartedly recommend Rosie as a singing teacher. I have been having lessons with Rosie for more than a year, and they have made a huge difference to my singing. As a result of her teaching, there has been an enormous improvement in my vocal range and my tone and breathing. Rosie is an excellent teacher of technique, and she always makes it fun as well as educational - I always look forward to the lessons. Rosie's approach is always so encouraging and supportive, and very good at improving confidence.
One of the best things that has improved since I started having singing lessons with you, is that at the beginning of term in the choir, I used to come away with the feeling that I had swollen glands. Now, with all your breathing exercises , and using my tummy muscles, I now don't have the throat problem, and feel much more relaxed when I sing.
Thanks Rosie.View more recommendations
