- Personal Message
- I am a 26-year-old tutor based in Barnsley, specialising in Key Stage 1 and 2 maths tuition and English tuition up to degree level.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach maths for children of primary school age, and can also coach entrants for the 11+ exam.
I also tutor children in English. This is my specialist subject, and one that I offer up to degree level. - Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a degree in English Literature from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have previous tutoring experience from time spent working at an offsite learning provider. My role was to tutor students in literacy, numeracy and life skills. This involved lots of one-to-one work and some teaching in small groups.
- How much do you charge?
- My basic fee is £20 an hour but is negotiable depending on the needs of both parent and student.
I like to come and do a free assessment before beginning full tutoring to get to know the child's needs. This helps me to build an individually tailored programme of study for each student. - Where do you teach?
- I am able to teach both in my own home and at the homes of students depending on your preference, but am always happy to come to you.
I live in Higham and am able to travel to anywhere in the Barnsley area including Cawthorne, Silkstone, Dodworth, Barugh Green, Worsborough, Lundwood, Cudworth, Carlton, Darton, Mapplewell and anywhere in between! - When are you available?
- I am available on weekday evenings and weekends (the times when children are most likely to be available for tutoring), and also through the day for sessions in school holidays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach any and all age levels from primary school right through to adult learners.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I prepare learners for all the exams they will take at school, including the 11+. I also teach English for A-level and degree students.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes
