Personal Message: I am a qualified secondary school teacher who has taught history up to A Level for the past two years. I recently left my job to move with my husband’s work and to look after our new baby girl. During the past two years I have also completed a Masters in History Education at the Institute of Education in London which has provided me valuable insight into how students learn and techniques to help them learn history (and other subjects) more easily and effectively.I enjoy my subject immensely and am keen to use that passion to help students develop individually tailored ways to learn the subject.
Which subject(s) do you teach?: My specialist subject is History and within that I have experience with a variety of topics at different levels, ranging from medieval up to modern day, from basic knowledge up to degree level discussions. English plays a massive role in history particularly at a higher level and many of the skills are key to both subjects.

What kind of experience do you have?: In addition to teaching in a secondary school for two years I have experience with Edexcel, OCR and AQA exam boards at both GCSE and A Level and have taught students with a variety of abilities. I have helped implement the new key stage three history curriculum in my department and have been an exam marker for Edexcel in the past. As well as teaching to larger groups I have also carried out individual sessions to students specific to their needs and queries.
How much do you charge?: My sessions cost between £15 and £20. The first introductory session I will charge at a 25% discount to ensure that you are satisfied before committing to the full rate. I am also willing to negotiate discounts for block bookings of ten or more sessions.
Where do you teach?: I can teach at my home or at the student's home. I am willing to travel within 15 miles of the Cheltenham/Tewkesbury area.
When are you available?: I am currently available weekday evenings and weekends, however I would be prepared to discuss other times on an individual basis.
Which ages and levels do you teach?: I teach all ages up to university level.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?: I can help students prepare for GCSEs and A Levels as well as providing university level support in essay writing and proof-reading.My experience also allows me to support younger students in the key areas of English.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?: Yes
