Personal Message
I am a co-author of six GCSE English revision guides (CGP) and was responsible for setting up an online learning project for GCSE Maths for Infinitas Learning. I'm happy to give a free trial lesson.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
As I started out as a Middle School teacher, I was trained to teach all the core subjects, but specialised in Art and Design Technology.

When I began tutoring, I initially focused on Maths and English up to GCSE level. I then added one of my degree subjects, Politics, and French up to A level, followed by Art up to GCSE level at a later date.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I studied Politics and Economics at Bath University, but dropped out for a year to care for my mother who was suffering from cancer. I returned after she died, shortly before finals, and gained a 2.2 BSc Joint Honours, but have a covering note from my personal tutor expressing the view that I would have easily obtained a 2.1 under less difficult circumstances.

Though I have not formally studied French, I lived in Paris for seven years, so I'm fluent. I'm also up to date with the curriculum requirements at both GCSE and A Level.

I also have a PGCE for Middle Years.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have extensive teaching experience, six years tutoring experience, am a co-author of six GCSE English revision guides (CGP), and was responsible for setting up an online group tutoring service for GCSE Maths for Infinitas Learning (iTutorMaths).
How much do you charge?
As well as the prices listed above, I'm happy to teach two students from the same year at the same location for an extra £5 i.e. £30 for two students at Key Stage 2, £32.50 for two students at Key Stage 3, £35 for two students at GCSE, and £40 for two students at A level.

I don't charge extra for travel or for additional online support.
Where do you teach?
I teach at students' homes in Bristol.

From the Easter break onwards, I'll be offering some additional online support for GCSE Maths, French and English between sessions.
When are you available?
I'm available any time during the week and between 10.30am to 5.30pm on Saturdays.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach from Key Stage 2 through to A level depending on the subject.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
GCSE: Maths, French, English and Art
A Level: French and Politics
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I had a CRB check in my last job that required it, which I left seven months ago. I'll get a new one if a lot of people ask for it, but I don't personally think parents should place too much reliance on CRB checks.
Do you have a personal message for students?
Be brave. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, ask questions, seek feedback. Fear of seeming foolish is the biggest obstacle to learning. Look at it this way, every mistake you make in a lesson is a mistake you won't make in the exam.
