Interview:

Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the Trumpet (plus Piccolo and Flugelhorn) and Cornet in both classical and jazz styles.

How much do you charge?
I charge £25 an hour/£20 for 40-45mins/£15 for 30mins.

Where do you teach?
I teach at my house in Fulham, right outside Putney Bridge tube station. However, if it is preferable and not too far to travel, I do teach at students' houses.

When are you available?
I am available most weekdays and usually teach in the late afternoon/evenings. However, depending on my schedule, I am flexible and could possibly teach at any time during the day.

Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach students from Primary school age right up to those who are nearing the end of their school careers and adults who are thinking of taking lessons. I start beginners on the instrument, help students towards any instrumental exams, and teach those who want to just have fun and improve at their own pace!

Do you have a CRB disclosure certificate?
I have a fully up to date Enhanced Disclosure CRB certificate!

Tell me about your qualifications.
I am currently at the end of my BMus (Hons) studies at the Royal College of Music.

What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught trumpet to students, lead workshops in primary and secondary schools and am comfortable and passionate when educating people about music. I have helped students towards instrumental exams, introduced students to brass instruments, and have been involved in outreach projects as part of brass quintets and mixed instrumental groups. I also teach peripatetically for a school in South West London.

During my time at the Royal College of Music (RCM) I have been principal trumpet of all the ensembles and orchestras and have broadcast for BBC Radio 3. I have also played solo flugelhorn with the combined London Brass/RCM Brass Ensemble. Aside from my regular college engagements, I recently played with the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the first night of the BBC PROMS and have performed a live fanfare for BBC Radio 3's 'In Tune' program. I also play with the Amadeus Orchestra (broadcast on BBC Radio 3), Chelsea Sinfonia and Opera de Bauge. I also play in big bands and pop bands (recently the Blue Flamingo Big Band & pop outfit Baxter Burton). My experience as a soloist has seen me perform concertos at the Royal Albert, St John's Smith Square and play a recital at All Souls Church. When I was much younger I was principal trumpet of the London Schools Symphony Orchestra for 5 years and won consecutive Malcom Smith Brass Prize’s at Alleyn’s School!
