- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach Double Bass and musicianship, in correlation with the lessons.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I graduated from the Guildhall School of Music with an M.Mus.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have over 9 years experience of double bass teaching and until recently, I was employed with Birmingham Music Service and Gloucestershire Arts for most of this time. I play orchestral double bass professionally.
- How much do you charge?
- My fee is £30 or £27, if held at my own address.
- Where do you teach?
- I am happy to travel to lessons or alternatively at my appartment in Godalming.
- When are you available?
- I am available when required.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach all ages from 6 upwards. I am happy to teach from beginner to diploma (post Grade 8).
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes, I have a CRB disclosure certificate.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- At the Guildhall School of Music and Drama I trained with Kevin Rundel and at Birmingham Conservatoire with Thomas Miller.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- I currently only teach privately adults and children. I have taught many children in schools and have been involved with outreach projects including the endangered species project and a specialist double bass project. Some of my past students have achieved an exceptional standards through ABRSM awards. I have taught and mentored students who have gained places at many of the top British music conservatoires including Royal Academy, Royal College and the Guildhall School of music and Drama.
