Personal Message
Brass and Piano teacher in East London for all ages and standards!
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Trumpet, Piano, Cornet, Tenor Horn, Euphonium, Tuba and Music Theory.
Tell me about your qualifications.
Diploma in Trumpet (Dip ABRSM) as well and Grade 8 Distinction
Grade 8 Piano

A Levels in Music, Biology, Chemistry and Maths.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have had experience teaching with peripatetic teachers for a local music service teaching beginner brass players.
I have also been a cornet tutor on a brass band summer school, working with children aged 10-16.

I have over ten years of playing experience in trumpet and piano and am currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and performing with numerous orchestras and ensembles throughout London.

I started learning the trumpet aged nine and the keyboard aged ten and studied both of these from a young age at the Junior RNCM and later at Chethams School of Music in Manchester. I have always been very involved in ensemble playing and have played at some of the best concert halls in the UK (Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall etc) as well as several overseas tours of Europe (Germany, France, Spain, Romania, Ireland, Belgium, Poland, Holland).
I was awarded a scholarship to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where I am studying trumpet with Paul Beniston. I have been involved in numerous concerts and events since moving to London, playing with many different orchestras and ensembles including Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, London Arts Orchestra, Guildhall Symphony Orchestra, Westminster Opera, ULSO etc.
I am a founding member of three brass ensembles based in London: Vivace Brass Quintet, Tritone Brass Trio and Whitecross Brass.
How much do you charge?
I charge £25/hour, £15/half hour. I am happy to give half hour taster lessons for free.
Where do you teach?
I prefer to teach at students' own homes, and am willing to travel to most areas of London.
When are you available?
I am very flexible and available during the week and at weekends and will try to fit in with my students!
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages from beginner to advanced in brass and piano. I have experience working with beginner brass players aged 7 and above and have also coached more advanced brass players of secondary school age.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
Every student has different aims and goals whilst learning an instrument - I am very happy to prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity/Guildhall Exams if they wish, but it is not compulsory.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Pending - for Hackney Music Service
Where and with whom did you train?
I am currently studying Trumpet at the Guildhall School of Drama with Paul Beniston (LPO), Anne McAnneny (LPO), Paul Cosh and Steve Keavy.
I previously studied at Chethams School of Music and Junior Royal Northern College of Music with John Dickinson and Tracey Redfern.
I studied piano with Alison Beeson and Kate Mercer.
Do you have a personal message for students?
Learning any instrument is a fun and exciting challenge whether you're young or old! Please feel free to contact me for further information about myself and lessons.
