- Hi there. I'm a final year Postgraduate student at the Royal Northern College of Music and, along with performance, teaching is a great passion of mine. Please have a read of my info!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach violin, and all areas of classical music including theory.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a Bachelor of Music (Hons) 2.i from the University of Birmingham and am currently completing a Masters in Solo Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music.
I have DipABRSM (2004) on violin as well as grade 8 distinction (2002). I also have grade 7 on piano and took vocal lessons for 3 years. - What kind of experience do you have?
- I have taught privately for a few years now and have also helped run several workshops in schools. I am now studying an Advanced Practical Pedagogy course which involves a year long placement with Manchester Music Service.
- How much do you charge?
- I charge £25/hour or £15/half hour for violin lessons. Group lessons are less, depending on the number of students. There may be a small travel allowance needed depending on distance and accessibility.
I will happily give a free consultation lesson to anyone who's not sure. - Where do you teach?
- I teach in Manchester, at my home or at yours depending on time and location.
- When are you available?
- I have a very flexible schedule so can teach weekdays and weekends.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I am comfortable teaching any age, from 3 upwards. Beginners to advanced players all welcome.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I am happy preparing students for any grade or DipABRSM
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes
- Where and with whom did you train?
- As a violinist I trained with Simon Smith in Birmingham and then Pavel Fischer (founding member of the Skampa String Quartet) at the Royal Northern College of Music.
