- I am skilful at incorporating important linguistic concepts and topics such as phoneme, morpheme and linguistic relativity into teaching to make the learning process interesting. My strong background in theoretical linguistics makes me proficient in applying conversational and discourse pragmatics to explanation of differences in meanings and grammatical structures. My profound knowledge of other prestigious Chinese languages such as Cantonese, Hokkien and Teochew as well as Malay and Indonesian enables me to acquaint my students with cultures in East Asia, allowing them to speak confidently in real communicative settings. I am also a linguist currently working on documenting several south eastern Chinese languages.
