About George
- What kind of experience do you have?
Postgraduate study at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama has given me a world-class education in classical and contemporary singing. I enjoy passing on my knowledge of how to sing with a sustainable, flexible technique. I have taught children aged 6-15 singing, music, words and dance for pantomimes and musicals (with Dramatic Moments), which was hugely rewarding and great fun! I privately tutor beginners voice and piano in Cambridgeshire, re-enforcing technique and music theory.
Gaining my Music Masters at Bristol University makes me perfectly suited towards helping with all academic challenges. Whether it is exploring different methods of answering questions, how to revise effectively, securing an understanding of the subject, or the basics of reading and writing, I have the experience and knowledge to help. Having struggled with mild dyslexia at school I can relate to the difficulties of learning, and how a new approach to a subject can help unlock a students potential.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes
- Where and with whom did you train?
Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (Eric Roberts)
Dramatic Moments (Cambridge)
Stage Coach (Saffron Walden)
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I currently have a vocal and piano student aged 11, who has never sung before. We are exploring her favourite types of music, and using that to help improve her singing technique and enjoyment. I also teach a 14 year old boy singing, and we are working towards a more consitent tone and confidence in his voice.
My other students include Stagecoach pupils in 3 groups of 15, from ages 6-15. We are rehearsing for a West End performance, covering words, singing technique and exploring ideas and improvisation for performance.

I can empathise with the various difficulties that academic work can cause. However I believe that there is always a simple solution to overcoming any academic or vocal obstacle- and enjoy finding the solution with a student.
