About Sophie
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have a lot of teaching experience especially with groups. I am currently also employed by SMS music service teaching curriculum music in Primary Schools. I draw from a lot of different teaching styles dependent on whom I'm teaching and my own creativity- whether that draws on aspects from Dalcroze, Rhythmiks or a more traditional styles. I am very comfortable with one on one teaching and will tailor what to what is wanted, whether its learning for fun, being introduced to new music or new techniques, reed making, preparation for exams or music scholarships.
I personally play in many ensembles both orchestrally and chamber settings.I have played across London including larger venues such as Southbank Centre, Kings Place and in the Vienna Konzerthaus.

I have studied at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with Jo Lively, Christopher O'Neal and David Thomas
I have also studied at the Privat Konservatorium Wien in Vienna with Guy Porat.
I have participated in many masterclasses including ones with Nicholas Daniel, Nora Cismondi, Ingo Goritzki and Gareth Hulse.

Welcome! I am a professional oboist and teacher of this unusual but very special instrument, with a great passion for many kinds of music. I strongly believe everyone should have music in their life as it brings so much pleasure and is so rewarding.

- How much do you charge?
£40 per hour/ £20 per 30 mins
group lessons are agreed on discussion.
I will happily do a free first consultation lesson.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at home, but can travel to pupils' homes with extra travel costs agreed.
- When are you available?
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are available. Weekends are also a possibility however must be open to flexibility due to my playing schedule.
