Personal Message: I am a self taught musician and have been playing the piano for over 20 years.

I play the piano by ear and am able to play many different songs and styles without having to read music. I can teach you to do the same.
Which subject(s) do you teach?: I teach a number of styles on piano including, Blues, Jazz, Boogie Woogie, Ragtime, Pop, and Classical.

As I am a self taught musician I use my own methods for teaching, and am not able to teach pupils to read music or prepare pupils for grade exams.
Tell me about your qualifications.: Piano player for over 20 years and playing professionally in bands for nearly 10 years.
What kind of experience do you have?: I have been teaching piano for 2 years now, and in that time my pupils have been of all ages and abilities.

I have extensive experience in entertaining live audiences in pubs, nightclubs, festivals, concert halls, and corporate functions in the United Kingdom and America, featuring blues, jazz, and popular music.

I also have a deep background in playing for recording and production studios.
How much do you charge?: Lessons are £15.00 per hour, with the 1st lesson free of charge.
Where do you teach?: I teach from home in Partick, Glasgow, but am able to travel within the Strathclyde area if you have a piano or keyboard at home.
When are you available?: I teach 7 days a week, 10:00am - 10:00pm
Which ages and levels do you teach?: I teach beginner to intermediate level pupils of all ages.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?: I have an up to date "Enhanced Disclosure Scotland" certificate
Tell me about some of your current students.: My current students range from an 8 year old beginner to an adult beginner who plays the guitar in bands.
Do you have a personal message for students?: If you want to learn how to play the piano, but are not interested in being tied down by having to read music, I can show you how to enjoy playing the piano.

People often ask me how I can play the piano the way that I do. I never need to use sheet music and can sit down at any piano and rattle off many different styles from Boogie Woogie to Beatles Songs to Ragtime. My answer is always the same; I did not decide to start playing the piano last week. It is something that I have been working at for...
