- Personal Message
- I have studied maths at Cambridge University and am currently taking a diploma through LSE. I'm keen to help others and share my knowledge and hopefully enthusiasm for the subject.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach Maths and Physics.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I attended Cambridge University to study Mathematics after taking A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. After successfully completing the first year of this degree I took the decision to leave and take up professional training in dance, and received a BPA(Hons) in Contemporary Dance from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Now working as a self-employed dance artist and teacher I am studying for a Diploma for Graduates in Mathematics through the London School of Economics through their distance learning programme.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I began tutoring maths last academic year, and tutored a range of students at GCSE, A-level, and HNC levels. I have also tutored at Newcastle University Summer school in the past. Aside from academic subjects I also teach dance to children through Phoenix Dance theatre and through my own business. I enjoy teaching in both of these capacities.
- How much do you charge?
- I charge around £20-£28 per hour depending on the what level the tution if for. For group lessons I would charge a discounted rate, the discount depending on the number of students in the group.
- Where do you teach?
- Based in Leeds I can tutor at my home in Chapel Allerton or travel to a students home within Leeds.
- When are you available?
- I can tutor on Saturday afternoons, and weekday afternoons or evenings. This is best discussed on an individual basis.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I tutor from ks3 to A-level.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I can tutor for A-level Maths and Further Maths, and GSCE Maths and Physics. I have also tutored for HNC qualifications.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I hold a current CRB check.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
- I am happy to tutor online via email exchange. I can reply to any email within one day, so as not to have delays on the exchange.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- I consider each of my students personally and work with a student to see how they can get the most out of the tutoring I offer. I will always aim to work with what the student wants/needs to improve on most, and will use my own knowledge of the subject to work out how best to achieve this improvement.

Recommended background reading
If you are wanting to go on to study Maths at degree level then it is important to extend your knowledge of the subject beyond the curriculum you are studying. Some books I would reccomend for students at A-level are: The Music of the Primes by Marcus Du Satoy Fermat's Last Theorem by Simon Singh
