- I am a French professional opera singer and harpist.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach lever and pedal harp, classical singing and French language.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I hold a French Baccalaureat in Literature and Philosophy and studied Musicology at the University of Paris-Sorbonne. I graduated with honours at the Conservatoire National de Region of St Maur (Paris) in Harp and Chamber Music as well as in Music Theory and Sight Reading.
I hold a Gold Medal from the Conservatoire of Ville d' Avray (Paris) in Singing. - What kind of experience do you have?
- As a harpist, I started teaching in my teens in a music conservatoire and privately when my own teacher was on tour.
I also taught music theory in various music schools in France.
Here in London I have given harp workshops in schools and I have been teaching harp and singing privately for the last 8 years.
I only started teaching French recently. - How much do you charge?
- I charge £40/ hour for singing and harp tuition and £30/ hour for French tuition.
This includes travel costs. For 2 consecutive hours of harp and/or singing the cost is £75 and £55 for French.
It is possible to do group lessons of harp and French and the price will vary according to the number of students participating.
The lesson will be charged if cancelled less than 24 hours in advance. - Where do you teach?
- I prefer to teach at my students' homes. I live in South East London, between Forest Hill and Catford but I am willing to travel to East, North or West London and to the nearby towns like Bromley and Greenwich. I usually travel between zone 1 and 3.
- When are you available?
- Currently I am teaching on Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, from 11am to 8pm. I prefer to teach on these days but I am flexible.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach young children from age 7/8 onwards (although I've had students who started when they were 6) and adults.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I can prepare for various qualifications at the students request.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- No but I do not have a criminal record.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
- I am not currently teaching online.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- No.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- Please see qualifications. I trained as a singer with the French barytone Robert Massard and with the British bass Malcolm King. I also participated in master classes in London with Victor Morris and at the Bayerischer Staatsoper in Munich with Rita Loving. I studied interpretation with the French coach Janine Reiss. I also trained my breathing intensively with a professional in Paris for 2 years and I am familiar with Alexander Technique and also though less with Feldenkrais.
As a harpist I trained with the French harpist Pierre Jamet.

Singing and Self-Awareness
Singing and classical singing in particular requires focus, energy and a great deal of self-awareness. Even more so than in the learning and mastering of other musical instruments since one own body is the instrument itself with the vocal chords producing the sound or vibration with air flow and the body being the cage of resonance. And...
