About Lizzie

- What kind of experience do you have?

I teach students of all ages from beginner to advanced level. I currently teach for Hounslow Music Service on a weekly basis in 4 different schools as well as for some independant Preparatory Schools. I have also taught on a private basis for many years. As well as teaching I have been involved in many educational projects including Animate Orchestra (A project in conjunction with Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.) I have also tutored on residential courses for Fiddlesticks youth String Orchestra.
I am a freelance violinist and I play with various orchestras and ensembles across the UK, My passion for my subject is still very strong and playing on a daily basis is keeping my skill at its highest level insuring I can deliver the highest level of teaching. References available on request.

I currently hold 3 up to date CRB certificates for different organisations.

I am an enthusiastic freelance violinist and teacher based in London. My teaching is based around a supportive, creative environment in which developing an enjoyment and passion for music is the fundamental aim.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

Violin

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I studied for my Bachelor of Music at Cardiff University on the Morfydd Owen String Scholarship I was awarded a BMus Hons 2:1 in 2012. I then continued my study at Postgraduate level at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance studying for a Postgraduate Diploma studying violin under John Crawford.I am currently studying for a Masters in Violin Performance under Gabrielle Lester and the Royal College of Music. - How much do you charge?

I charge £40-45 per hour and £22-25 per half hour- depending on travel. I am happy to travel to you though travel costs may be added depending on the destination this can be seen in the above prices.

- Where do you teach?

I teach at my home in Greenwich, though I am more than happy to teach at the students home.

- When are you available?

I am a freelance violinist and teacher and therefore my schedule is forever changing. However I am happy to book in a weekly slot for your lesson to make it a regular arrangement. In terms of times or days I can be flexible, I will do my best to suit your needs. I am also happy to teach during the school holidays.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach students of all ages from beginner to advanced level.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

I prepare students for ABRSM exams as well as the Trinity College of London exams and any entrance auditions.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

Learning the violin is an incredible experience for both the student and their families; one that can be very rewarding. I would encourage everyone, no matter what their age, to experiment with the idea of learning an instrument.
