- I am a 36 year old Primary School Teacher with over 10 years teaching experience.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach all Primary subjects. I specialise in confidence building. I teach skills required to sit common entrance exams. I can teach History up to GCSE level.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- PGCE. I have BA Hons degree in Politics. I have 5 A levels- History, English, Media Studies, Communication Studies and Art.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have over 10 years teaching experience in Mainstream schools and I have been tutoring for 7 years. I teach all year groups. I have been tutoring children for confidence building, basic skills and 11+ entrance exams. Currently I am teaching groups of children for 11+. I can teach up to 4 children in 1 session as I have a classroom (office we named Ed Pod) at the bottom of my garden.
- How much do you charge?
- I charge £30 an hour for individual classes. Initial consultation and assessment is £20 for 1hr.
For groups I charge £20ph. I tend not to charge for cancellations as I understand families have other commitments. We can discuss this further. - Where do you teach?
- I teach from my office in Worcester Park.
- When are you available?
- I am available on Saturday mornings and afternoons. I can be available for last minute revision during the summer holidays. Some notice is required so I can arrange suitable childcare.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I can teach 5-11.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I have an up to date CRB certificate.

11+ books and advice
I have been teaching 11+ skills for quite some time and I do find the best materials for this are Bond books. Bond 10 minute tests are great for revision or quick brain teasers (see the Maths one here). They also do a guide for parents (The Parents' Stress Free Guide to the 11+) which features quite a decent list of recommended reading...
