Classical Piano Training - What kind of experience do you have?
- I have graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London where I studied on a full scholarship under Jeff Clyne, Duncan Hopkins, Gerard Presencer, Pete Churchill and Hans Koller. I have a number of awards including the prize for Composition Competition in the UK run by Tim Garland and "Sir John Dankworth Composition Prize 2010". I also lead my 9-piece orchestra Yuriy Galkin Nonet - Nine Of A Kind (formerly known as Symbiosis) performing my original compositions and arrangements. As an educator I have been teaching privately for over 10 years. I also assisted in a number of music workshops led by Tomorrow's Warriors LTD as well as workshops and masterclasses around the UK for students and children within different educational projects.
My playing experience includes playing at such major venues and events as Ronnie Scott's, Pizza Express Soho, London Jazz Festival, Kings Place, Barbican, The Vortex Jazz Club, Southbank Centre, Marborough Jazz Festival and Hull Jazz Festival among others. - How much do you charge?
- £30 per hour
Traveling longer distances is a subject to an additional charge. - Where do you teach?
- East London areas (e.g. Tower Hamlets, Walthamstow, Barking, Ilford, Romford, Stratford and nearby areas). Can travel to Central, North & West London as well.
