- I offer individual tutoring tailored to each student's specific needs, not the same old recycled lesson plan!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- Across the curriculum at KS1&2, English, Maths, Science, ICT, History and Geography at KS3, English, Maths, Science, ICT and History at GCSE, and. English and History at A Level. I can also teach essay writing skills and prepare students for the challenges of GCSE, A Level and University.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a First Class Honours degree from The Open University, ICT qualifications, and high-grade A Level and GCSE results.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have been tutoring on an informal basis (friends' children) for some time. I run a monthly creative writing group, and am also involved in children's work at my local church.
- How much do you charge?
- My fees start at £15 per hour, rising to £27 for A Level. I offer discounts for gops, and for families wanting tutoring for more than one child. I also offer a referral scheme.
- Where do you teach?
- I will travel, at no extra cost, to students' homes within a 20 mile radius of York. Primarily, I cover areas such as Acomb, Haxby, Wigginton, Poppleton, Huntington, Stamford Bridge, Elvington, Bishopthorpe, Strensall, Flaxton, Sherrif Hutton... and more. I also offer online tuition.
- When are you available?
- I am available both during the day and on weekday evenings until 9:30pm, with the exception of Thursdays, when I am available until 7:00pm. I am also available on Saturdays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I am able to offer tuition from age 5 through to 18.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- GCSE, SATs tests, AS, A2
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes, I have a recent, clear, enhanced CRB certificate.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
- I can offer online tuition via Skype, with students emailing homework assignments. Reduced fees apply for online tutoring - contact me for more details.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- Not at present.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- Learning can be fun and enjoyable, when it is tailored to your needs. I don't recycle lesson plans like most teachers - everything is tailored specifically to you! If you thought learning was dull before, I can show you otherwise!!
