Personal Message
I enjoy mathematics and I try to impart some of that enjoyment to my students. I have a relaxed and friendly teaching style.

As a full-time tutor, I take a professional attitude to tutoring.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I specialise in teaching A level maths and some undergraduate maths (mainly mathematical methods,Algebra, Group Theory and Analysis) I have taught A level mathematics from all the major examining boards - EDEXCEL, AQA, OCR and OCR MEI. I have experience of teaching the followiing A level modules: C1, C2, C3, C4, S1, S2, M1, M2, D1, D2, FP1, FP2, FP3, FP4. I also help to prepare for the STEP examinations. I also teach Addmaths, an extension of GCSE maths. I particulartly enjoy tutoring pure maths (A level FP1, FP2, FP3, and algebra, analysis and other areas of pure maths at undergraduate university level).
Tell me about your qualifications.
I am an Imperial College graduate with a BSc and MSc in Pure Mathematics, as well as ARCS.

I continue to study mathematics. I am currently studying Philsosophy and an area of mathematics called Logic.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have over 12 years teaching experience, as well as several years experience as an A level examiner for OCR. I am pleased to say that I have a high success rate (many students achieving As and A*s). My experience as an examiner helps me to advise students on exam technique. My experience of teaching a wide variety of students helps me to find suitable explanations of difficult concepts that the student can understand. I have also written articles on Mathematics for an online science magazine for teenagers called THE BRAINSTORM.
How much do you charge?
I normally charge £30 per hour of tuition. The price would still be the same in total for a group of students studying the same topic at the same level, so I am happy for students to share the cost of the lesson in such cases. In other cases, the price would be negotiable.

For home visits, there would be an additional fee to cover transport cost and time.

From 1st July to 1st October only, I will be charging a special reduced rate of £20 an hour for all levels of mathematics tuition where students come to my home.
Where do you teach?
I often teach from home. I find this ensures that the lesson is of very high quality, as I have all my resources at hand (eg; textbooks, past papers, computer), and the workspace is always quiet and comfortable.

I can also teach at the student's home. I am able to travel to Palmers Green, some parts of Enfield ,Palmers Green, Bounds Green, Wood Green, Harringay, Muswell Hill and Central London for an additional fee to cover Transport cost and time.
When are you available?
I am available all days, including weekends, from 9am to 9pm.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach Additional Maths, A level maths, A level Further maths, IB maths, STEP and some Undergraduate maths. I have taught pupils of all ages and abilities, including mature students, whose enthusiasm I find refreshing. I have also taught students whose first language is not english.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
GCSE and A level mathematics and further mathematics, IB mathematics. I also coach for the STEP and AEA exams. I also tutor undergraduate maths, especially mathematical methods, algebra and analysis. For example, I recently helped a London Univerisity student with their course on "Mathematical Methods for Finance" and helped another university student with their Third Year Group Theory course.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I am considering tutoring by SKYPE, and am willing to venture into this new area of tutoring if a student wishes
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
ARCS (associate membership of Royal College of Science)
Tell me about some of your current students.
Many of my past students have achieved A/A* in their maths exams, and many have gone on to study at top universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Leeds, UCL, members of the Russell Group and various medical schools. I have had students from many local schools and colleges, including Latymer and Woodhouse 6th form College, as well as pupils of private schools such as The Mount and Westminster. I have helped many students get the grades they need to go on to study Medicine at university. I have also taught mature students and foreign students. For example, I recently helped a University of London student with their Quantitative Techniques for Financial Engineering course, and another university student with their Third Year Group Theory course. I am currently helping a student with their Open University degree in mathematics.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I strongly believe that a good grade for A level maths is within most people's reach, so long as you get a good grasp of the concepts, and practice enough relevant questions, especially exam-type questions. In my lessons, a student has no option but to get involved, thinking, and solving problems. I find this very effective in getting the student to gain understanding relatively quickly and comfortably. My aim is to get the student to a standard where they do not need my help at all to tackle the exam problems. I try to adapt my teaching style to the pupil's learning style.
