- A Cambridge graduate and experienced, full-time tutor with friendly but professional attitude.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach mathematics and physics up to A-Level standard and first and second year university mathematics.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a degree in mathematics and mathematical physics from the University of Nottingham, an MA. in philosophy from University College London and an M.Phil in philosophy from the University of Cambridge, where I was awarded a prestigious CHESS scholarship to study for the degree. I also have an 'Individual and Small Group Teaching' qualification from the University of Cambridge.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have been tutoring at varying levels, from GCSE to University, for nearly two years. Most of this has been preparation for a particular exam, though I have also had students who are studying just for the enjoyment of it. I feel well-suited to being 'on the other end' of the one-to-one style of teaching that I benefited from at university.
- How much do you charge?
- My rate is £25 per hour for GCSE and A-Level subjects and £30 per hour for university level mathematics. This price is inclusive of tutorial preperation time.
- Where do you teach?
- I hold my tutorials at my parents' home, where there is a room suitable for the purpose. As a general rule, I do not travel to student's houses for tutorials, but exceptions may be made in the event that the student was willing to pay travel expenses, and they were located near to my home.
- When are you available?
- I am available after 11am on weekdays and after midday at weekends.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach GCSE and A-Level students as well as first and second year university students who are studying mathematics - the latter come in all ages!
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- Many of my students come to me during school holidays for 'intensive' preparation for A-Level or GCSE examinations that they will be taking the following term. This is something I have become proficient at and in many instances have helped students to achieve grades beyond that which they were predicted to obtain.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- No.
