Personal Message
Whether you want your child to learn for fun or you're an adult who wants to brush up on skills, my teaching approach is a friendly, no-pressure approach to learning. The most important thing to remember is that learning should never be a chore!
Which subject(s) do you teach?
Tell me about your qualifications.
Grade 8 distinction
Bmus (hons) cello performance
LTCL (Dist) Teaching diploma
What kind of experience do you have?
I have been enjoying teaching cello students since I began studying at Trinity College of Music 10 years ago. Having taught privately and within borough music centres I have experience teaching a variety of ages and abilities.

I completed my teaching diploma at Trinity College of music for which I received a distinction and I have always found teaching a hugely rewarding element of my professional career as a cellist.
How much do you charge?
20 minutes: £20
30 minutes: £25
1 hour: £35
Where do you teach?
I teach from home in SE6 which is near the following places: Hither Green, Blackheath, Greenwich, Dulwich, Bromley, Catford, Lewisham, Beckenham.
When are you available?
I currently teach on Monday and Tuesday afternoons to early evenings but may be able to accommodate different times/ days - please just let me know your requirements and I'll do my best!
Which ages and levels do you teach?
Anyone between the ages of 4 and 150 can play the Cello! The Cello is a soulful instrument with a beautiful sound which is a wonderful thing to enjoy whether you're playing purely for enjoyment and fun or to climb the grading ladder and reach the top! I'm happy to teach beginner to advanced.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM if requested

I urge students not to use grades as their main focus for learning the cello. Playing the cello should be a joy and sometimes grades make it a more pressurised experience than it should be. Every student is different, therefore this can be discussed via email/ telephone or during lesson time.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
Musician's Union
Where and with whom did you train?
Wells Cathedral School 1993- 2004 - Dr Ioan Davies
Trinity College of Music 2004-2010 - Joely Koos and Natalie Clein
