Personal Message: I am very passionate about music and recognise the importance of a teacher demonstrating this to their students in order to get them excited about music, as well as learning.
Which subject(s) do you teach?: I teach Music Theory and can help in preparation for music exams such as GCSEs and A-Levels. I also teach singing, clarinet, viola, violin either just for fun or to prepare for instrumental music exams.
Tell me about your qualifications.: Next month I complete my BMus in viola performance. I also have an ATCL dimploma in viola.
What kind of experience do you have?: I have been teaching violin and viola from 2006, I also have a 2:1 in a teaching skills module from Royal Welsh College of Music. In terms of performance my most recent projects have involved playing at the Edinburgh Festival as part of a band with a poet and in a Bristol Old Vic
How much do you charge?: I charge £15 for a 30 minute lesson, instrumental or music theory based.
Where do you teach?: I can teach either in my own home or at students' homes. Currently I teach in both the Cardiff area and in Hertfordshire (also willing to travel to some parts of London).
When are you available?: I am available any evenings or Saturdays, I can also continue lessons throughout the school holidays if the student wishes.
Which ages and levels do you teach?: I teach students of all ages and levels.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?: I prepare students for exams of any level on violin and viola, to Grade 3 standard for singing and up to Grade 6 on clarinet.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?: Yes I do have an up to date CRB certificate.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?: I am a member of ISM musicians union.
Where and with whom did you train?: I am currently in my final year at Royal Welsh College of Music, graduating in July 2012.
