- I am a young enthusiastic teacher. My times are flexible and I am willing to travel around London. Please feel free to contact me with any questions!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach Clarinet, Piano and Music Theory.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I was awarded the Performance diploma for Clarinet from the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music in 2009, whilst at sixth form college.
I achieved Grade 8 distinction (all ABRSM) Clarinet, Grade 5 distinction Piano and Violin. I have passed Grade 8 theory.
I have A levels in Music (A), Music Technology (A), Product Design (A) and Mathematics (A).
I have 11 GCSE's (A*-A).
Competitions and Awards:
- Trinity College Wilfred Hambleton Clarinet Competition (Winner, 2010)
- New Milton Music Festival (Winner, 2006) - What kind of experience do you have?
- I have been teaching privately for the past 2 years and I currently participate in teaching workshops around London, the standard ranging from young beginners through to advanced adult players.
I am a Clarinet tutor at the Water City Music Festival where I introduce wind instruments to complete beginners, the age ranges from children to elderly adults. I also give advice about how to get started in classical music, be it a hobby or general interest.
I hold a teaching position at Music South for private one to one tuition and group lessons. - How much do you charge?
- I offer a free consultation lesson. I charge £25 for a 1 hour for Classical/Jazz Clarinet lesson and £20 for Piano and Music Theory lessons. I also teach combined theory and practical lessons which I charge £35 for 1 hour 30 minutes long. For younger students half an hour lessons are negotiable.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach at my house in South East London (closest stations are Greenwich and Cutty Sark DLR). I am willing to travel, within reason, around London.
- When are you available?
- I am free to teach Monday - Saturday. I am very flexible.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach all ages and abilities. I can introduce a beginner to the Clarinet or Piano and teach them basic music theory. I can also teach intermediate to advanced students (up to ABRSM Grade 8).
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I prepare students for ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) exams. Practical exams include set pieces, sight reading, aural and scales. I also prepare students for ABRSM Music Theory exams, which are written papers.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I have a current CRB checked.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- Musico South (London music teaching agency)
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I am currently training at Trinity College of Music, London under the tutorship of Hale Hambleton (English National Opera) and Ian Mitchell (Head of Woodwind, TCM). I have also had masterclasses with professional orchestral players and international soloists.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- Playing and performing music is one of the most beautiful ways to express yourself. I believe it should be accessible to anyone. Teaching students to enjoy such an art is an incredibly rewarding experience.
