Whether you're a complete beginner or post grade 8, I aim to give musical education that is fun and motivating. I have a very consistent record for good exam results but whatever your aims, I will do my best to help you reach them.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
Clarinet, Saxophone, Bassoon, Music Theory (ABRSM and GCSE/A Level).
Tell me about your qualifications.
First Class BMus (Honours) from The Royal College of Music, London.
What kind of experience do you have?
I teach bassoon and musicianship at the RCM Junior Department and in both main stream and special needs schools throughout London. I have been teaching privately for the past 7 years and have experience with all ages and abilities.

Training from Bigfoot Theatre Company, RCM Sparks, LSO Discovery, Drake Music and The Tri-Borough Music Hub for many education outreach workshops throughout the year.

As well as experience in teaching all ages and abilities, I frequently perform with the finest orchestras in the country, including: English National Opera, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, World Orchestra for Peace, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. I have also recently held a position at the National Theatre for Tori Amos' The Light Princess.
How much do you charge?
£35 per hour
£20 per 30mins

Discounts are available for groups
Where do you teach?
South west London. I am based in Putney and teach at home but can also travel to: Wandsworth, Barnes, Battersea, Clapham, Earl's court, Fulham, Hammersmith, Kensington, Kingston West Brompton, Wimbledon.
When are you available?
Generally after school times most week days and mornings at the weekends. I am happy to be flexible according to your needs.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages and levels from complete beginners to post ABRSM Grade 8
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I always ask my students what the main aim of their learning is so that we can set specific goals. Graded exams (ABRSM) can be a good way of marking progress but I understand that not everyone wants to take them. Some of my students are aiming to prepare for public recitals and some simply play an instrument for the love of music making.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
Skype/Face time with the aid of screen sharing (pdf format sheet music)
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain
Royal College of Music, Junior Department
Royal College of Music, Sparks
London Symphony Orchestra Discovery team
BBC Symphony Orchestra Education Outreach team
Bigfoot Education Arts Ltd.
Where and with whom did you train?
The Royal College of Music (2008-2012):

Martin Gatt, Julie Price, Andrea Di Flammineis, Martin Field

The Academy of Performing Arts, Prague (Sept - Dec 2011):

Frantisek Hermann, Jiri Sedil
